Welcome to Tau Kappa Epsilon in Georgia

North Avenue YMCA in AtlantaOn January 27, 1948, twelve men gathered with TKE field secretary Frater Herb Brown at the YMCA on North Avenue in Atlanta to establish the Chi Epsilon Colony of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Installed by Grand Prytanis Frater R.C. Williams on June 5, 1948, Beta-Pi Chapter became an early outpost for Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity in the southern United States and the first TKE Chapter in Georgia.

It would be another decade before Tau Kappa Epsilon would charter another collegiate chapter in the State of Georgia, making the long-distance leap of some 230 miles to the growing campus of Valdosta State College (Valdosta State University), where our Zeta-Nu Chapter would be installed on January 17, 1959.

Concurrent with TKE's increasing pace of growth in the 1960s and 1970s, our Lambda-Upsilon Chapter was installed on May 25, 1968 at Georgia Southern College (Georgia Southern University), completing the "Georgia Triangle" between Atlanta, Valdosta, and Statesboro.

Lambda-Omega Chapter at Georgia State College (Georgia State University) was installed on November 29, 1968; Xi-Theta Chapter at West Georgia College (University of West Georgia) on June 5, 1971; Xi-Lambda Chapter at the University of Georgia on March 25, 1972; Xi-Chi Chapter at Southern Technical Institute (Southern Polytechnic State University) on February 24, 1973; and Omicron-Tau Chapter at Columbus College (Columbus State University) was installed on January 22, 1977.

Tau Kappa Epsilon FoundersTau Kappa Epsilon's Georgia Province boasts one of the highest "average chapter size" percentages in our Fraternity and our Beta-Pi Chapter at Georgia Tech, a "Top TKE Chapter," is consistently one of the largest and most successful chapters in Tau Kappa Epsilon.

The Georgia Province is also home to several award-winning Chapter Alumni Associations. Our Xi-Chi Alumni Association (Southern Polytechnic State University) and our Lambda-Upsilon Alumni Association (Georgia Southern University) have both been recognized as "Top TKE Alumni Associations" by the International Fraternity. The TKE Atlanta Alumni Association, our regional alumni group, has also been recognized with top honors from the TKE Grand Chapter, and remains one of the most dynamic and progressive alumni groups in the Fraternity.

Our volunteer ranks include some of the best and brightest that TKE has to offer ... including seven inductees into the TKE Southern Order of Honor, members of the TKE Knights of Apollo (current or former members of the TKE professional staff), and several Past Grand Officers. Our collegiate chapters in Georgia are consistently represented at the annual TKE Leadership Academy ... and when it comes time each year to bestow some of the highest honors and most prestigious scholarships offered by Tau Kappa Epsilon, our collegiate members are always included. In addition, the TKE Georgia Province has a long tradition of sending one of the largest delegations to our biennial TKE Conclave. Our members, both on the collegiate and alumni level, continue to excel on campus, in the community, and within the Fraternity.

Your TKE Province Officers are committed to providing quality service and support for our TKE Chapters in Georgia. If you need our assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll do everything we can to help!

For over 50 years Tau Kappa Epsilon has been a major fraternal force in the State of Georgia. Our future promises to be even brighter, as the chapters in the TKE Georgia Province continue to grow, excel, and accept the challenge of fraternal leadership in this, the second century of Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity.
